Kirkstall Abbey is a now in-ruin Cistercian monastery on edge of Leeds city centre, set in a public park on the north bank of the River Aire.

Founded in 1152, disestablished during the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII, visitors can xplore one of the most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey in Britain.

Set in wonderful parkland along the banks of the River Aire, Kirkstall Abbey boast historic architecture amid a haven of wildlife and greenery.

Kirkstall Abbey Visitor Centre is where visitors can find out more about the lives of the 12th century monks and contains the touch table, a unique catalogue of images of the abbey from the 18th century to the present day. 

Visitors can explore the Abbey on a guided tour which inludes a mead taster or enjoy a lunch or afternoon tea experience.
